National

Self-reflection or muhasabah and self-improvement shape Muslims to continue changing for the better. It should take the form of a change to a better state, as well as improving relationships with Allah the Almighty and fellow humans. The Friday Sermon highlighted on Becoming A Better Person. The sermon also emphasised four methods for self-reflection.

First, begin self-reflection by recalling all the obligatory duties (fardhu) that are required for us to perform and perfect. If there are still those that are neglected, be determined to perfect them. Second, self-reflect on the sins, transgressions, and prohibitions that we commit. If it is evident that we are still involved in these, then, repent, seek forgiveness and return to the obedience. Third, self-reflect on negligence and oversights. Returns to Allah by striving to remember Him more through increasing the sunat or mass prayers, listening to religious talks, reciting zikir and reading Al-Qur'an. Fourth, self-reflect on the other body parts bestowed by the Almighty.
